Ballet or Basketball?
Last year, my Mom took me and Kaitlyn to the Nutcracker Ballet. This year we weren't sure if we would go again, but decided it would be a fun girls night. When I found out that the performance was the same day as a BYU basketball game, I asked Kaitlyn which one she would rather attend. Without hesitation she said, "Ballet, ballet". So we got all dressed up and went to the Covey Arts Center to see the ballet. She was sooooo excited!! When we got there, she was dancing all over the place and jumping up and down. She was even telling the ushers how excited she was. Just like last year, Kaitlyn absolutely loved the ballet.
This was right before the performance started. After the ballet, my brother Eric (who did sound for the ballet and got us the tickets) took us backstage so we could meet a ballerina. We met the head Sugarplum Fairy herself. She was so nice to take pictures with Kaitlyn. The funny thing was when I had Kaitlyn pose next to the ballerina, she would try and pose exactly like the ballerina was. She would turn her feet and raise her arms so she could be just like the ballerina. What a cutie!!
I wish Kaitlyn's black shoes hadn't blended in with the stage because then you could see how she put her feet just like the ballerina's. You can kinda see the shine on her shoes, but that's about it. At least she got her arms posed just right.
The ballerina was seriously so sweet to take time to pose with Kaitlyn. The final pictures are of her and me standing in front of the big nutcracker.

See how she's still doing the ballerina arms. She cracks me up. So all the way back to the car she would do her ballerina jumps and twirls. It was such an awesome time. Thanks goes out to my Mom and especially my brother Eric, who got us the tickets and backstage for free. It was the ultimate mommy & daughter night out.
