On Monday, we went to This is the Place Heritage Park with the Stanger Family. They were visiting from Idaho over Labor Day weekend. It was a great experience. They had a little something for everyone. There were historic homes and buildings, little crafts for the kids, people dressed up in pioneer wear, train rides, pony rides, etc.
Once again, Jason hitched a ride in the backpack. He loved it and took a little snoozer while we were walking around.
This was a little demonstration how you washed clothes in the old days. Kaitlyn really liked it, but I think that she was trying to wash the washboard instead of washing the cloth.
These little cows were so cute. They were even very content to let the kids pet them.

On to the horses. Kaitlyn would pick up some hay and feed the horse. It was so exciting for her.
Here's another craft the kids were able to do. They dipped string into wax then into water over and over again. Eventually it became a candle.
At the Indian Village, the kids made arrowhead (projectile point, hehe) necklaces. Kaitlyn sweet talked the volunteer in the hut to give her a feather. She was so proud.
Kaitlyn loved riding the pony. Right next to the pony ride was a little petting zoo. She was looking at the rabbits and then saw the goats. She said, "I wanna pet the dog now". Um, that's a goat Kaitlyn. Guess she's a city girl.

How fun!! I'm totally gonna have to take the family there soon! I had no idea there was so much to do! I just thought it was a regular park with a couple cabins in it or something. Looks like a blast!
