Kaitlyn the Hero

In Kaitlyn's Kindergarten class, they have something called Hero of the Day. On their hero day, the kids get to wear a cape, they get a medal to take home, and a parent comes in to tell why their child is an everyday hero. After the parent brags about their hero, the kids make a tunnel and the designated hero gets to run through it and give everyone high-fives. The 21st was Kaitlyn's day to be a hero.
Here she is at the front of the class holding a picture that was taken during swimming lessons. Some things that I told the class was that she was a hero because she was brave when she took swimming lessons, she is helpful to me and others, she plays with Jason, she loves to try new things, and she loves to make new friends.
She was so excited to run through the tunnel of her friends. Of course she had to do a little pose before she took off running.
She loves her medal and wore it all day. Sometimes she still wears it every once in a while. It's such a great idea to have a hero day because the kids get to know each other a little bit better, and I got to be in the classroom and observe a little of what goes on. I've been really impressed with her Kindergarten so far. I really loved coming into her class and sharing what a hero she is to me.
